BREAKING: PRINCESS BOLA BADA DECLARED WINNER OF IKOSI-ISHERI LCDA CHAIRMANSHIP ELECTION

The incumbent Executive Chairman of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada popularly called MAYORESS, has just been declared the winner of the Local Government Chairmanship elections in Ikosi-isheri LCDA. This was made known by the LCDA's LASIEC returning officer of the election held on Saturday July 24th, 2021, Ms Saka-Shenayon Uzezi Gladys. Her statement reads "That Bada Abolanle Sammy of APC is hereby declared the winner of the Chairmanship election of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, having complied with the requirements of the law and scored the majority number of votes, the aforementioned is hereby elected and returned." Bada Abolanle Sammy of All Progressives Congress Party, APC pulled a total number of 'fifteen thousand seven hundred (15,700) votes', Orosiji Olalekan Nurudeen of People's Democratic Party, PDP scored 'One Thousand four hundred and Ninety-eight (1,498) votes' while Youth Progressives Party, YPP garnered 'Seventy-five (75) votes.&

APC, PDP, YPP BATTLES FOR COUNCILORSHIP POSITIONS IN IKOSI-ISHERI LCDA

As released by the election umpire in Lagos State, the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, only three (3) political parties will vie for the Councilorship positions in the July 24th Local Government elections in Ikosi-isheri LCDA. The three political parties that will contest for the Councilorship positions are All Progressives Congress (APC), People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Young Progressives Party (YPP).  However, only PDP and APC will contest for the Local Government Chairmanship position in Ikosi-isheri LCDA. The election, which will take place across all the seven wards in Ikosi-isheri LCDA will hold on Saturday July 24th, 2021 between the hours of 8am and 3pm.

The gang of suspected criminals met their waterloo Monday morning while attempting to unleash terror on a motorist around Ojota in-bound Alausa. Help however came for the motorist as Governor Sanwo-Olu's convoy approached the scene to rescue him from the three machete-wielding criminals who were at the time, trying to forcefully drag him out of his vehicle. The security personnel attached to the Governor swooped on the suspects, retrieved the dangerous weapons from them and arrested the three of them. Ikosi-isheri residents defy rain to witness unveiling of Princess Samiat Bada and other APC Candidates in the LCDA

  Amidst the heavy rain on Thursday July 8th, 2021, residents ranging from APC party faithfuls, market men and women, artisans, NURTW, Community youths, CAN, League of Imams, LASCOTA, NULGE, Arewa, Ndigbo and South-South members of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, witnessed the APC Ikosi-isheri Campaign Flag-off, in large numbers. The flag-off ceremony which has the rank and file of Ikosi-isheri APC leaders in attendance, took place at CMD road by Shangisha/Magodo junction. In her speech, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-isheri LCDA who is also the flag-bearer of APC in the Local Council Development Area, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, urged all faithfuls of the party to bury all grudges or issues they may have had and harmonize to ensure victory for the party at the polls on July 24th and beyond. Lagos Assembly Plans Laws To Establish 2 Universities

  - To convert colleges of education to university - LASPOTECH to become University of Science and Technology The Lagos House of Assembly on Thursday debated two bills proposing the establishment of two tertiary institutions - a University of Education and a University of Science and Technology - in the state. The bills, which scaled second reading on the floor of the House presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, were committed to the House Committee on Education (Tertiary) to report back in two weeks. Hon. Bisi Yusuff (Alimosho 1) argued that the bill for a law to provide for the establishment of the university of Education, Lagos (UNEDLAG) was important as he suggested that it should also have provision for pre-degree programmes. Yusuff also noted a provision in the bill that would make graduates be somewhat independent rather than search for jobs. "The inclusion of vocational training will also make the students to be self-employed," he said. O
