Hon. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, Commissioner for Transportation, launched the "Sean Pee & Kids Back to School Program" on Thursday, aimed at supporting students from the Somolu-Bariga constituencies. The initiative brought together pupils from six schools—three in Somolu and three in Bariga—providing essential supplies to help them prepare for the new academic year. The program's key objective was to ease the financial burden on parents while promoting academic success. COUNCIL BOSS DISTRIBUTES FREE 250 GCE FORMS TO INDIGENT STUDENTS

The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-isheri Local Council Development Area, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, popularly called MAYORESS, distributes 250 free GCE (General Certificate of Education) forms to Ikosi-isheri indigents students. While distributing the forms at Adebayo Osinowo hall, Ikosi-isheri LCDA Secretariat, on Monday, Mayoress described the gesture as one of her interventions in the Education sector of the LCDA. "I urge you all to be good ambassadors of Ikosi-isheri LCDA. Lagos Assembly Plans Laws To Establish 2 Universities

  - To convert colleges of education to university - LASPOTECH to become University of Science and Technology The Lagos House of Assembly on Thursday debated two bills proposing the establishment of two tertiary institutions - a University of Education and a University of Science and Technology - in the state. The bills, which scaled second reading on the floor of the House presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, were committed to the House Committee on Education (Tertiary) to report back in two weeks. Hon. Bisi Yusuff (Alimosho 1) argued that the bill for a law to provide for the establishment of the university of Education, Lagos (UNEDLAG) was important as he suggested that it should also have provision for pre-degree programmes. Yusuff also noted a provision in the bill that would make graduates be somewhat independent rather than search for jobs.
