Hon. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, Commissioner for Transportation, launched the "Sean Pee & Kids Back to School Program" on Thursday, aimed at supporting students from the Somolu-Bariga constituencies. The initiative brought together pupils from six schools—three in Somolu and three in Bariga—providing essential supplies to help them prepare for the new academic year.
The program's key objective was to ease the financial burden on parents while promoting academic success. Students received school bags, water bottles, exercise books, and other necessary stationery to support their educational needs.
During his speech, Commissioner Osiyemi highlighted the importance of education and community development, stating, "Today, we invest in the future of our children and our community. Education is the key to unlocking their potential, and I am proud to support these young minds. I urge you all to make the most of this opportunity and strive for excellence in your studies."
The event was well-attended by dignitaries and community leaders, all of whom showed strong support for the program. Their presence not only demonstrated the significance of the initiative but also fostered a sense of belonging and motivation among the students.
The success of the program underscores Commissioner Osiyemi's commitment to empowering the youth and investing in the future of Somolu-Bariga's young generation.
