KOB FOUNDATION BRINGS SIGHT TO HUNDREDS IN A MEDICAL OUTREACH

In a commendable act of charity, the K.O.B Foundation has organized a free medical outreach program in Ketu, Lagos, focusing on providing cataract surgeries and free reading glasses to underprivileged individuals.

The event, which took place at Adekanbi Street, Ketu, attracted over 900 persons across Kosofe LG and environs, many of whom had been living with cataracts for years due to a lack of access to affordable healthcare.

The founder of the foundation, Hon. Kazeem Oluwaseun Balogun, popularly called K.O.B, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap in healthcare access. "Our goal is to ensure that no one is left in the dark due to preventable or treatable conditions like cataracts. This is not the first or second edition of this medical outreach, and we will not relent. We are committed to continuing our efforts to provide free medical services to those who cannot afford them."

"Aside conducting medical outreaches, KOB Foundation has also impacted countless lives through donation of food palliatives, and festival cash gifts", said Hon. Kazeem Balogun.

Beneficiaries of the outreach expressed their gratitude, with many noting how the surgeries would significantly improve their quality of life."I have been struggling to see for the past three and half years, and I never thought I would be able to afford the surgery. Thanks to the foundation, I can now see clearly", said one of the beneficiaries.

The event was also supported by local authorities and community leaders, who praised the foundation for its commitment to the welfare of the people.

In addition to cataract surgeries, the foundation also offered free NIN and LASSRA registration, free consultations, eye examinations, and provided necessary medications at no cost. A total of 36 successful cataract surgical operations was conducted, 179 persons benefited from the Free eye screening, 221 persons got free reading glasses, while 50 and 200 persons benefitted from the free NIN and LASSRA registration respectively.
