Olusola Allen-Taylor Foundation Partners with Oba of Oworonshoki in combating Drug and Substance Abuse


The Olusola Allen-Taylor Foundation, an NGO dedicated to raising awareness about drug and substance abuse, held an impactful event in Oworonshoki on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The initiative aimed to sensitize and educate the community on the dangers of substance abuse and promote healthy living.


Over 150 community members, including both children and adults, attended the event, which featured expert facilitators from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Psychiatric Hospital in Yaba. These organizations provided critical information on the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of abstaining from such practices.


The event was graced by Olori Maryam Olubukola Saliu, the Queen of the Oba of Oworonshoki, who represented His Royal Majesty Oba Saliu Babatunde Saliu. In her remarks, Olori Saliu commended the initiative and expressed strong support for the ongoing battle against drug abuse in the community. She assured that the royal family would continue to back efforts aimed at ending the menace of substance abuse in Oworonshoki.


This partnership marks a significant step in the fight against drug abuse in Oworonshoki, with local leaders and organizations coming together to create a safer, healthier environment for the community.

APC, PDP, YPP BATTLES FOR COUNCILORSHIP POSITIONS IN IKOSI-ISHERI LCDA

As released by the election umpire in Lagos State, the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, only three (3) political parties will vie for the Councilorship positions in the July 24th Local Government elections in Ikosi-isheri LCDA. The three political parties that will contest for the Councilorship positions are All Progressives Congress (APC), People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Young Progressives Party (YPP).  However, only PDP and APC will contest for the Local Government Chairmanship position in Ikosi-isheri LCDA. The election, which will take place across all the seven wards in Ikosi-isheri LCDA will hold on Saturday July 24th, 2021 between the hours of 8am and 3pm.

  In a significant development within the political landscape of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area, the incumbent Executive Chairman, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, popularly called MAYORESS, has garnered widespread support for a second term.
