Council Chairman and Assembly Member empathize with residents of flood-affected communities

 


The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-isheri Local Council Development Area, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, and the Lagos Assembly Member representing Kosofe Constituency II, Hon. Femi Saheed, commiserate with the inhabitants of Agiliti Phase II, Idera/Ajegunle and Isheri North communities, which were affected by flood occasioned by the release of Oyan river dam. 


During their visit to the respective communities at early morning of wednesday, Mayoress Bola Bada empathized with the residents and assured them of interventions by the government. 


She urged people to dissuade from building along drainages and river bodies while admonishing them to be cautious and prevent mishaps during the flood period.





 "I commend the patience and cooperation with the government portrayed by you all. I assure you that we will not relent but work with all stakeholders to find a lasting solution to this flooding issue", she addressed the residents. 


The Assembly Member, Hon. Femi Saheed, stated that he and the LCDA boss will follow the issue with the Senator representing the constituency, and the State Governor to bring solutions to the perennial flooding. 


The residents appreciate the duo for the sympathy visit while they promise to cooperate with the government towards achieving the common goal.

Ikosi-isheri residents defy rain to witness unveiling of Princess Samiat Bada and other APC Candidates in the LCDA

  Amidst the heavy rain on Thursday July 8th, 2021, residents ranging from APC party faithfuls, market men and women, artisans, NURTW, Community youths, CAN, League of Imams, LASCOTA, NULGE, Arewa, Ndigbo and South-South members of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, witnessed the APC Ikosi-isheri Campaign Flag-off, in large numbers. The flag-off ceremony which has the rank and file of Ikosi-isheri APC leaders in attendance, took place at CMD road by Shangisha/Magodo junction.
