Yuletide Season: Senator Abiru cheers constituents; distributes 8,500 food packs

Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, of the Lagos East Senatorial District, has distributed over 8,500 food packs to his constituents for the Christmas and New Year celebrations. These packs, containing rice, beans, and garri, were simultaneously distributed across the 16 Local Governments/Local Council Development Areas of the Senatorial District. The initiative targeted vulnerable groups within the district, including widows, individuals with physical disabilities, unemployed youths, women, and the elderly. Additionally, trade associations, youth organisations, religious bodies, party members, leaders, and traditional rulers were among other beneficiaries. To ensure wider and more inclusive reach, individuals shortlisted from online nominations also received these packs. This approach aimed to support more residents, especially young people in need, during the festive season. Tinubu commissions 107 gas and electric-powered buses in Borno

  Calls Zulum 'Hope Renewed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday in Maiduguri commissioned a fleet of 107 gas and electric-powered buses as well as taxis at  Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s metro transport scheme program.  The scheme, in its second phase, is one of the efforts of Governor Babagana Zulum to cushion effects of fuel subsidy withdrawal. The commissioning ceremony took place around the Shehu of Borno’s Palace.  President Tinubu was in Maiduguri for this year’s Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference, but he took time to commission Zulum’s vehicles, after paying homage to the Shehu, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-kanemi. UK VISA: Standard visitors can now work with approval

  The Home Office of the British government has announced a change in UK visitor visa policy which would allow standard visitors to work in the country. The announcement was made on Thursday.  An approval must be taken along with the visit visa in this regard. Commenting on this matter, Barrister Shubhagat Dey, managing partner of Lexpert Solicitors LLP in London, said that the Home Office has removed the previous obstacles to work on a visit visa. Family visitors, holiday tourists can work while traveling.  In the past, the Islamic scholars who used to go to the UK to deliver speeches in Islamic programs, could not legally accept any money for the visit visa. They will be allowed to receive money from now on. A lawyer can also come on a visit visa and provide various services under the revised rules, said the lawyer. KEEP FIT LAGOS: Lagos kick-starts monthly aerobics

  In line with the T.H.E.M.E.S.+ agenda of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, Mr. Damilare Orimoloye, in conjunction with Lagos State Sports commission, flagged off a monthly aerobic program ( Keep Fit Lagos ) on Saturday. The event, which took place at Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena, is a lofty initiative aimed at engaging Lagos youths in sports and recreation. Various youths and dignitaries who participated in the aerobics appreciated it as one of a kind activity that would help improve the health, fitness and mental well-being of Lagosians.
