HOUSING: Sanwo-Olu commissions Greenwich Gardens in Agboyi-ketu; There're more to come, says LCDA Boss.

Ajelogo/Akanimodo area of Agboyi-ketu LCDA was filled with various dignitaries in Lagos political circle as the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, commissioned Greenwich Gardens, a landmark achievement of Mayor Dele Osinowo.

Sanwo-Olu commends Mayor Dele for the initiative

"Housing is a fundamental need, and I'm proud to inaugurate Greenwich Gardens, adding 101 units to Agboyi-ketu.

"Greenwich Gardens stands as a testament to our pledge to create livable communities in Lagos. I give kudos to Mayor Dele Osinowo and Agboyi-ketu LCDA for pioneering this remarkable housing project, setting a new standard for grassroots development", said Mr. Sanwo-Olu.

Governor urged other LG/LCDA Chairmen to emulate Agboyi-ketu boss

"I'm calling on other Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas Chairmen to emulate what Mayor Dele has done. If at the local level, we are building one hundred to five hundred units, and we are doing a thousand and more at the state level, then, the housing deficit in Lagos would be a thing of the past", he said.

More housing units will be ready for commissioning soon - Dele Osinowo

"I give God all the glory for the success of this project. I must commend Mr. Governor for his ever listening ear and the maximum support he gave towards making this (the project) achievable", remarked Mr. Osinowo.

"We must commend Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for coming up with the idea of creating LCDAs while he was Governor of Lagos State. I must say this is the first of its kind from a local government level.

He stated: "Greenwich Gardens features 101 apartments, including 66 units of 2-bedrooms flat, 14 units of 3-bedroom semi-detached houses, 1 unit of a 4-bedroom detached house, 20 units of 3-bedrooms terraces, and 65 residential plots under a site and service scheme. It is one of the cheapest you would see and it's available for everyone.

Conclusively, he said: "today's visit won't be our last, as we have numerous ongoing projects, such as Sterling heights (106 housing units), Raymond Estates (64 housing units), a Recreational Centre in Agboyi, and WeLift ICT Hub, designed to foster digital literacy among young minds.
