TOTAL NUCLEUS FOUNDATION (TNF) GRADUATES FIRST SET OF CBT TRAINEES



...we will continue to invest more, says Group's Patron, Senator Gbenga Ashafa

On Tuesday, About twenty children were graduated from a 'Computer Based Test (CBT)' Training, organized by Total Nucleus Foundation (TNF), in Magodo, Lagos. 

The Patron of the foundation, Senator Gbenga Bareehu Ashafa, described the initiative as one that is necessary in this global age of technological advancement. 

He said: "The language of today globally is technology. With these acquired skills, the children would have built more confidence to participate with their peers globally without intimidation. I'm proud to invest in this initiative, meant for children of year 7 upwards.

"I have acknowledged the role of the current Senator of Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, who is doing well in the area of Technology & Innovation, and this aligns with Mr. President's Renewed Hope Agenda as regards Innovation, Technology and Creativity. This CBT training is a way of assisting their efforts in this regard, introducing ICT to our children to help them in their education. 

He urged the graduands to explore and learn more as the world is evolving continually and half knowledge is not enough. "There are plans to expand the program scope to AI technology and others. We will continue to invest more", said Senator Ashafa.  

While addressing the press men, the President of the foundation, Mr. Lukman Owolabi, highlighted the aims of the organization and the scope of the training program. 

"There are four cardinal programs of TNF - Education, Health, Environment and Information gathering. This CBT training is one of our educational efforts. We have been doing ICT training for ages, but we just introduced CBT training as West Africa Examinations Council, WAEC, may soon be conducting their exams in Computer-based formats. 

"The program focused on JSS3 and SS3 students, who will be writing terminal examination. About 20 students are graduating today, to the glory of God, and we hope to expand the reach across Lagos State and beyond", said the group's President. 

Akinode Busayo, a beneficiary, thanked the Chairman, Sen. Ashafa and Total Nucleus Foundation, for organizing the program for them. 

"We learnt Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Corel Draw and others. I appreciate the organizers for giving us this opportunity for free, stated Busayo. 

The graduation ceremony also witnessed the presentation of materials and financial awards to the best graduating students and other beneficiaries. The students and their parents were full of praises to the organizers.

PCRC ALAPERE DIVISION MARKS 40TH ANNIVERSARY WITH ROAD SHOW & MEDICAL OUTREACH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TA'AWUN NGO

  Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alapere Division, under the Chairmanship of Hon. Odutona Ayodele, partners TA'AWUN NGO to organize a medical outreach in celebration of PCRC 40th anniversary. On Monday, the anniversary celebration started with a sensitization walk which progressed from Alapere Divisional Police Station and culminated at Agboyi-ketu LCDA Secretariat, where the PCRC members were addressed by the Executive Chairman, Mayor Dele Osinowo.  In his remark, the Council Chairman, Mayor Osinowo commended the tremendous efforts of the PCRC in upholding peace in the LCDA and promised to ensure they get the necessary support from the government.
