- Mayoress reiterates youth development as her administration's top priority
The atmosphere of Expressway Primary School, Ikosi, was filled with flare, glamor, suspense and jubilation as soccer lovers across the seven wards of Ikosi-isheri LCDA and beyond witnessed the fiercely contested final match of the maiden Mayoress Cup.
The ecstatic match which took place between Ward D (Orile-Ikosi) and Ward E (Orile-Ketu), went in favour of Ward E in a 1 to nil final score.
The MAYORESS of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, while presenting cash gifts to the winner (Ward E), first runner-up (Ward D) and second runner-up (Mayoress FC) teams, appreciates the teams for their doggedness and fair play.
In her address, she advised the youths to discover their talents and pursue their careers passionately. "As a government, we will not stop in supporting our dear youths and organizing programs that will enhance peaceful coexistence and unity in our communities. This is just one of the lofty youth development packages we have in stock; watch out for other ones", she said.
Awards and medals were also presented in the following categories: Fair Play Award - Shangisha Magodo (Ward B), Best Defender - Alausa Qudus (Ward C), Best Goalkeeper - Rasaq Kehinde (Mayoress FC), Highest Goal Scorer - Dolapo Abdusalam (Ward E), Best Player of the Tournament - Dolapo Abdusalam (Ward E), Best Coach - Prince Richard.
Many dignitaries were present to witness the event. Some of which are: Hon. Femi Saheed (Assembly Member, Kosofe Constituency II) Hon. Adeola Jokomba (Lagos APC Secretary), Hon. Gbenga Omotosho (represented), Hon. Toyin Balogun, Dr. Seriki Muritala (APC State Youth Leader), Hon. Orimoloye Oluwadamilare (SSA Youth to Gov. Sanwo-Olu).
