Mayoress reiterates youth development as her administration's top priority

The atmosphere of Expressway Primary School, Ikosi, was filled with flare, glamor, suspense and jubilation as soccer lovers across the seven wards of Ikosi-isheri LCDA and beyond witnessed the fiercely contested final match of the maiden Mayoress Cup.

The ecstatic match which took place between Ward D (Orile-Ikosi) and Ward E (Orile-Ketu), went in favour of Ward E in a 1 to nil final score.

The MAYORESS of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, while presenting cash gifts to the winner (Ward E), first runner-up (Ward D) and second runner-up (Mayoress FC) teams, appreciates the teams for their doggedness and fair play.

In her address, she advised the youths to discover their talents and pursue their careers passionately. "As a government, we will not stop in supporting our dear youths and organizing programs that will enhance peaceful coexistence and unity in our communities. This is just one of the lofty youth development packages we have in stock; watch out for other ones", she said.

Awards and medals were also presented in the following categories: Fair Play Award - Shangisha Magodo (Ward B), Best Defender - Alausa Qudus (Ward C), Best Goalkeeper - Rasaq Kehinde (Mayoress FC), Highest Goal Scorer - Dolapo Abdusalam (Ward E), Best Player of the Tournament - Dolapo Abdusalam (Ward E), Best Coach - Prince Richard.

Many dignitaries were present to witness the event. Some of which are: Hon. Femi Saheed (Assembly Member, Kosofe Constituency II) Hon. Adeola Jokomba (Lagos APC Secretary), Hon. Gbenga Omotosho (represented), Hon. Toyin Balogun, Dr. Seriki Muritala (APC State Youth Leader), Hon. Orimoloye Oluwadamilare (SSA Youth to Gov. Sanwo-Olu).

IKOSI-ISHERI LCDA: Community Stakeholders and appointees gets six cars

Merriment and praises fill the atmosphere as the Mayoress of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, handed over 6 car keys to beneficiaries at the council secretariat, on Monday. The Ikosi-isheri League of Imams, CAN (Christian Association of Nigeria), Iyaloja of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, CDC (Community Development Committee), Revenue Chairman, and Ikosi-isheri Media Team, were elated as they got their respective keys from the Mayoress. In her remarks, the Mayoress described the gesture as one of the ways of appreciating community stakeholders and her staff. "Our religious stakeholders, the CDC, and Iyaloja have been very supportive of our administration and they played major roles in upholding peace in our communities. APC, PDP, YPP BATTLES FOR COUNCILORSHIP POSITIONS IN IKOSI-ISHERI LCDA

As released by the election umpire in Lagos State, the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, only three (3) political parties will vie for the Councilorship positions in the July 24th Local Government elections in Ikosi-isheri LCDA. The three political parties that will contest for the Councilorship positions are All Progressives Congress (APC), People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Young Progressives Party (YPP). However, only PDP and APC will contest for the Local Government Chairmanship position in Ikosi-isheri LCDA. The election, which will take place across all the seven wards in Ikosi-isheri LCDA will hold on Saturday July 24th, 2021 between the hours of 8am and 3pm.

Ikosi-isheri residents defy rain to witness unveiling of Princess Samiat Bada and other APC Candidates in the LCDA

Amidst the heavy rain on Thursday July 8th, 2021, residents ranging from APC party faithfuls, market men and women, artisans, NURTW, Community youths, CAN, League of Imams, LASCOTA, NULGE, Arewa, Ndigbo and South-South members of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, witnessed the APC Ikosi-isheri Campaign Flag-off, in large numbers. The flag-off ceremony which has the rank and file of Ikosi-isheri APC leaders in attendance, took place at CMD road by Shangisha/Magodo junction. In her speech, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-isheri LCDA who is also the flag-bearer of APC in the Local Council Development Area, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, urged all faithfuls of the party to bury all grudges or issues they may have had and harmonize to ensure victory for the party at the polls on July 24th and beyond.
