As part of her administration's efforts in eradicating cervical cancer, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, flag-off Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccination at the Local Government Secretariat on Wednesday.
The vaccination exercise, which was done in partnership with Lagos state Health District II, Lagos State Healthcare Board, NPNCDA, WHO, and UNICEF, was done to ensure all eligible young girls (aged 9-14 years) receive the HPV vaccine.
She said in her remarks: "HPV is a common virus that can lead to serious health issues, including cervical cancer. By launching this vaccination campaign, we are taking a proactive stance to protect our young residents from the potential harms of HPV".

She continued: "To the parents and guardians here today, I urge you to support this initiative, spread the message, and ensure that your daughters receive the HPV vaccine. It is a simple yet powerful way to protect their health and future.
