In a bid to sustaining public discourse on its yearly budget, Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, under the leadership of Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, convened an engagement with stakeholders on the preparation of its year 2024 budget.

The forum, held on wednesday at Senator Adebayo Osinowo hall in the LCDA Secretariat, aimed to involve various stakeholders in the decision-making process regarding the allocation of resources and priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.

While addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Mayoress Samiat Abolanle Bada, recounted the series of projects and activities ranging from Sports and youth development, Healthcare, Roads and Infrastructure, social welfare and tourism, to interventions in education, carried out by her administration so far.

Later, she stressed on the essence of the gathering and emphasized further, the role of stakeholders in the budgeting process.

"Few days ago, this kind of consultative forum was held simultaneously at the respective seven wards, where the ward Councilors were able to interact with the ward residents to entertain the submissions of their suggestions, observations and requests.

"Today, we therefore hold a general conference to harmonize the inputs from the respective wards. This is a sterling initiative of ours, with the primary objective of fostering transparency, engagement, and collaboration in the budgeting process", she said.

The forum brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including the elected and appointed political officials, Management and department heads, royal fathers, representatives from civil society organizations, religious leaders, Business leaders and community members.

Present stakeholders were provided with the opportunity to share their perspectives, priorities, and suggestions regarding budget allocations for specific sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, social services, and economic development.

The program also featured an interactive session where various stakeholders were allowed for discussions, queries, requests and clarifications regarding the proposed budget.
