Senator Abiru Rallies Support for President Tinubu, Joins Ibeju-Lekki Clerics for Special Prayer At Solu Alade Tafsir


The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial district, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru has urged Muslims to continue praying for the success of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that bold decisions, reforms of the president have started yielding results.

Abiru made the remarks on Sunday during the 22nd Tafsir and special prayer session for the President held at Solu Alade Central Mosque, organised by the Ibeju-Lekki League of Imams and Alfas, with the support of the honourable member representing Ibeju-Lekki Federal Constituency, Hon. Bayo Balogun.

The senator, who is the chairman of the occasion, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to gather in fellowship during the holy month of Ramadan, describing the Tafsir as an important spiritual gathering that promotes unity, interfaith harmony and national reflection.

He commended the League of Imams and Alfas for sustaining the annual prayer session, noting that such platforms play a vital role in strengthening community cohesion and encouraging prayers for the peace and progress of Nigeria.

In his address, Senator Abiru highlighted several development interventions facilitated across Ibeju-Lekki as part of his representation of Lagos East Senatorial District. They include blocks of classrooms, primary health centres, Doctors’ quarters, sports facilities, among others.

Abiru also used the occasion to commend the leadership of President Tinubu, noting that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on economic reforms, infrastructure development, job creation, national security and social investment programmes aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.

He said the Federal Government has taken bold steps to stabilise the country’s economy through structural reforms designed to strengthen public finances, encourage investment and improve productivity.

The lawmaker further noted that infrastructure development remains central to the administration’s agenda, citing the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a major national project that will enhance connectivity and economic opportunities along Nigeria’s coastal corridor.

The senator added that the Federal Government is also implementing youth-focused initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, supporting small businesses and fostering technology-driven innovation among Nigeria’s young population.

Abiru stressed the importance of prayer and faith in leadership, noting that Islam teaches that leadership is a sacred trust.

He therefore called on Muslims to continue praying for the country’s leaders, particularly President Tinubu, asking Allah to grant them wisdom, strength and guidance in steering the nation toward peace, unity and prosperity.

Guest lecturers, Professor Kabir Olawale Paramole and sheikh Murtadho Abdul-Gafar Arikewuyo (Baba ni Lekki), urged Muslims to guide their lives according to the dictates of the Holy Quran and Almighty Allah’s injunctions. 

The event brought together Islamic scholars, prominent political and community leaders, and muslim faithful across Ibeju-Lekki, who joined in special prayers for the continued progress of Nigeria and the well-being of its leadership.
