Senator Mukhail Abiru Ramadan Lecture Series Holds at Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Emphasises Fear of God and Spirit of Giving
The Ramadan Lecture Series sponsored by Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru FCA continued at Ikosi-Isheri LCDA with a spiritually uplifting gathering at Fiwakesin Central Mosque, Ketu. The event was hosted by Chief Imam Ismail Balogun, who warmly received clerics, political stakeholders, and members of the Muslim community.
Anchored by the League of Imams and Alfas, the lecture centred on gratitude to Almighty Allah, urging constituents to remain thankful at all times and to reflect deeply on His countless blessings.
Focus on Two Pillars of Faith
The guest lecturer delivered an inspiring message built around two core pillars that resonate strongly during the Holy Month of Ramadan:
The Fear of God: Described as the spiritual compass guiding daily conduct and human interactions.
The Spirit of Giving: Encouraging believers to move beyond rituals and embrace acts that create tangible social impact.
Offering a thought-provoking perspective on prosperity, the lecturer challenged modern materialism, stating that “the weight of wealth cannot be measured by the amount of money kept in one’s bank account, but by the number of lives touched through the wealth acquired.” He commended Senator Abiru for initiating the Ramadan Lecture Series, describing it as a platform that continually promotes moral rebirth and community development.

Prayers for the Nation and Leadership
A special prayer session was observed during the programme, focusing on Nigeria’s peace, stability, and progress. Additional prayers were offered for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Abiru, seeking divine wisdom and guidance in leadership.
In his remarks, Chief Imam Ismail Balogun, Chairman of the League of Imams in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, on behalf of other clerics, applauded Senator Abiru for his numerous programmes, projects, and impactful activities across the 16 LGAs and LCDAs within the senatorial district. He further urged political stakeholders to promote peace and unity among themselves for the collective growth of the constituency.
The lecture once again reinforced the essence of Ramadan — faith, gratitude, generosity, and a shared commitment to building a harmonious society.
