  Calls Zulum 'Hope Renewed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday in Maiduguri commissioned a fleet of 107 gas and electric-powered buses as well as taxis at  Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s metro transport scheme program.  The scheme, in its second phase, is one of the efforts of Governor Babagana Zulum to cushion effects of fuel subsidy withdrawal.   The Home Office of the British government has announced a change in UK visitor visa policy which would allow standard visitors to work in the country. The announcement was made on Thursday.  An approval must be taken along with the visit visa in this regard. Commenting on this matter, Barrister Shubhagat Dey, managing partner of Lexpert Solicitors LLP in London, said that the Home Office has removed the previous obstacles to work on a visit visa. Family visitors, holiday tourists can work while traveling.  In the past, the Islamic scholars who used to go to the UK to deliver speeches in Islamic programs, could not legally accept any money for the visit visa. They will be allowed to receive money from now on. A lawyer can also come on a visit visa and provide various services under the revised rules, said the lawyer.   The recently appointed Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Sports, Mr. Damilare Orimoloye, has hit the ground running with a maiden edition of 'Monthly Aerobics Program'.  The laudable event, which would be flagged off at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, (formerly known as Onikan Stadium) on Saturday, 9th December 2023, was organized in collaboration with the Lagos State Sports Commission.  Mr. Damilare said in his remarks: "I am excited as we prepare to launch this monthly aerobic initiative tagged 'KEEP FIT LAGOS'. This is just the first of many programs to come for youths engagement in sports".   The Lagos State Court of Appeal, on wednesday, affirmed the judgment of the tribunal confirming the election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Obafemi Hamzat as the Governor and the Deputy Governor of Lagos State. The appellate Court dismissed the appeal of Labour Party/Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and PDP/Abdulazeez Adediran Jandor for incompetency and lack of merit. The court in a unanimous decision delivered by the three-member panel: Justic Yargata Nimpa, Justice Samuel Bola and Justice Paul Bassey dismissed the grounds of appeal raised by Adediran, popularly known as Jandor. Proxyscribes recalls that the tribunal had earlier upheld the victory of Sanwo-Olu as the elected Governor of Lagos, in the March 11 election.  The justices held: “Even though they were all pre-election matters, the appellants (PDP and Adeniran) still failed to prove them. The appellants came empty-handed and left empty-handed. They merely enjoyed their day in court. Their petition is dismissed.”
